A day trip to Pyeongchang in the heart of the Winter Olympics will give you a Christmas spirit in December. Gangwon-do is the best place for winter activities, anyone who lives in Korea will agree with this. So a trip to Pyeongchang is perceived as something we had to do in winter, I guess we opened the season. First, we went on the brand new KTX from Seoul to Pyeongchang where the road took 1.40 minutes. The train was super fast and comfortable, we changed to a bus and went to Woljeongsa Temple - one of the most famous temples in Korea, on the way to the temple you can enjoy a walk in the forest. Second, after the temple, we had a traditional bibimbap for lunch, in a wonderful place where we were shown the process of making bibimbap. After lunch, we went to a traditional market where they sold seasonal goods that can only be found in such markets. From different fruits to mushrooms and desserts. We got a coupon for 10,000 won to spend at the market. The food and hot drinks at the traditional market were probably the best part of the trip for us haha. Finally, we went to the famous sheep farm, where you can enjoy the views and see and feed these cute animals. Unfortunately, the frosty wind and cold weather did not allow us to enjoy the walk properly, but we did manage to feed the animals. It's a good reason to come back again.
