About your trip

~The following is a review from my friend who went with me to the show~ "I’m not really into theater, so when my friend insisted we see Cookin’ Nanta, I wasn’t thrilled. But honestly, it ended up being way better than I expected. The show is about a group of chefs trying to prepare a meal under a tight deadline, and everything goes wrong. There’s no talking, which was nice because you don’t have to understand Korean to enjoy it so I think this is perfect activity for tourists or foreigners who are looking for something unique to do. Instead of words, they rely on physical comedy and music, which made it super easy to follow. What stood out the most was how they used kitchen tools to create music. It sounds weird, but it actually worked so well and was honestly really impressive. The performers were so in sync, and the rhythms were catchy enough to have all of us clapping along. It was also really funny. The humor is very physical and over-the-top, so it’s hard not to laugh. They even pulled some people from the audience to join the show, which was fun to watch. If you’re looking for something different to do in Korea, this is a solid choice. It’s entertaining, easy to understand, and not too long. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did, but I’d definitely recommend it—even if you’re not a theater person.

TIP

Quick easy walk from the Hongik Univ. subway station exit 9. Right across from the famous Harry Potter Cafe.
